The Aerospace Association of Prince Edward Island (APEI) is an incorporated non-profit entity representing the interests of the aerospace sector in the Province. Working with its member companies and stakeholders, APEI fosters collaborative business, marketing and human resource development initiatives on behalf of the PEI aerospace industry and stakeholders.
From virtually an unknown sector in the early 1990’s, to one of the fastest growing industries in the province boasting annual sales exceeding $350 million, the Aerospace industry has proven to be a true success story for Prince Edward Island.
PEI`s aerospace cluster serves the global aerospace market, specializing in maintenance, repair and overhaul, manufacturing, design, and engineering. Customers of Prince Edward Island’s aerospace industry have come to expect excellent value in a product/service mix that competes successfully on the global industry stage. Infrastructure
As a former Canadian Forces Base, the Slemon Park Industrial Facility comprises all of the accoutrements required by a modern aerospace cluster. The 1,500 acre business park includes a working airport, hangar infrastructure ranging in size from 25,000 to 300,000 square feet, and centralized hotel, food service and recreational facilities. Slemon Park is home to a number of aerospace companies in the Province and is also recognized as the only business park in Canada to provide onsite industry training, offered via Holland College’s Aerospace Technology Centre.
