BLUEDROP AWARDED SECOND SIMULATION CONTRACT WITH THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE
Bluedrop Performance Learning Inc. (TSX-V: BPL) announced today it was awarded an $890,000 contract by the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) to provide Virtual Reality based simulation to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This simulator will support the RAAF’s Hercules (C-130J) Loadmaster Training Program. This is the first contract announced by Bluedrop’s new $2M Halifax based Training and Simulation Center.
Bluedrop’s Defence and Aerospace unit will deliver to the RAAF its C-130J Tactical Airlift Crew Trainer (TACTTM) that will simulate a variety of mission critical aircrew tasks associated with Strategic and Tactical Airlift operations for the Hercules aircraft (C-130J). The new contract will allow C-130J Loadmasters to perform procedural training in a realistic immersive virtual environment simulating both day-time and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) assisted flight, with a primary focus on threat detection and reaction (e.g. surface-to-air missiles, air-to-air missiles). TACTTM will also provide the following secondary training components:
• Ramp and Cabin Inflight Checks
• Inflight Aircraft Emergencies
• Tarmac / Confined Airfield Manoeuvring
• Cargo security
• Vehicle Loading
• Paratrooper Dispatching
The simulator will be delivered in partnership with Bluedrop’s strategic partner, Virtual Simulations Systems (VSS), based in New South Wales, Australia. The capability is scheduled to be developed, delivered and implemented at RAAF Base Richmond, Australia before the end of June 2012. Allen Dillon, Bluedrop’s Vice President of Business Development, states “This contract award clearly demonstrates Bluedrop’s ability to integrate and deliver world-class technology to military forces around the globe from Atlantic Canada.”
“I appreciate the confidence the RAAF has shown in Bluedrop. I am especially proud of our new Halifax facility and our world class team”, says Emad Rizkalla, Bluedrop President and CEO. “This contract shows the ability for our Halifax team to hit the ground running. They have secured an international contract and are performing close to $1M of work with our VSS partners just a few weeks after launch.”
